Therapy Offerings
Â
Individual, Couple & Family Therapy: Designed to adapt around your unique needs, whether individually or collectively.
Group Therapy Programs: Experiential groups for clients looking to step outside their comfort zone, expand their perspective, and practice building relational trust in a safe space. Healing alone and together, one step at a time.

Â
Therapist Group Therapy Programs: Group therapy alongside other therapists allows you to exhale—you don't need to be anything other than you around people who understand in a way that others outside the field simply cannot. Unmask, lower your guard, bring your cup of coffee, and just be yourself (and maybe gel eye mask patches will be permitted once a month... lol).

-
For Individuals: Whether you're coming in to better understand mood fluctuations, break negative patterns, or simply unpack whatever you experienced growing up (because let's be real—that is never simple, lol), there is so much to be gained through therapy.
 -
For Couples & Families: For partners who deeply love each other but are stuck having the exact same argument over and over to no avail, or who are navigating major milestones like moving in together or getting married. This work creates space to truly hear your partner and understand what they are saying and needing. We also support families transitioning from coupling to conscious uncoupling who need grounded co-parenting support alongside other parental figures. If any of that sounds like where you are, let’s connect.

Professional Consultation & Collaboration
Â
Ali prioritizes treatment coordination with allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive, cohesive client care. She also facilitates a Peer Consultation Group for therapists looking to build community, refine clinical skills, and grow professionally.
Â
Ethical Boundary Note: To avoid dual relationships and maintain clear clinical boundaries, clinicians enrolled in Ali’s therapist therapy groups are ineligible to participate in the Peer Consultation Group.

Philosophy & Approach
Neurodivergent-Affirming Framework
Ali approaches therapy from the belief that your brain isn’t broken—it’s wired differently in a world that wasn’t built with you in mind. Her work centers on honoring neurodivergent traits, reducing shame, and helping you build a life that fits your nervous system instead of forcing you to fit a rigid mold.
Integrative & Holistic Care
Drawing from psychoanalytic insight, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and nervous-system education, Ali tailors care to each client rather than following a one-size-fits-all protocol. Sessions might include exploring patterns, building concrete skills, or learning how your brain processes information so you can work with it—not against it.
Relational Safety First
Healing starts with feeling safe in the room. Ali prioritizes a calm, sensory-considerate environment where you don’t have to mask, over-explain, or perform. Together, you’ll move at a pace that respects your capacity, with clear communication, collaboration, and consent at the center of the work.
Professional Background
Healing requires feeling safe—and true safety starts when you stop apologizing for how your brain is wired. Ali Trenta, LPC, NCC founded Mindful Moon Counseling to create the kind of therapeutic space she saw missing in traditional mental health care: one that rejects the idea that neurodivergence is a deficit to be fixed. As a neurodivergent clinician herself, Ali seamlessly blends deep professional expertise with lived experience, providing a space where you never have to mask or perform.
Holding an M.A./Ed.S. in Professional Counseling from Seton Hall University, Ali’s approach is eclectic and deeply individualized. Looking through a psychoanalytic lens to make sense of the "why" behind your patterns, she integrates CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and dedicated psychoeducation so you can actually understand how your brain works. Specializing in late-diagnosed ADHD, Autism, OCD, and trauma, Ali works collaboratively with teens, adults, couples, and families across New Jersey to build strategies that fit real life.
Ali’s perspective as a therapist is informed by a rich, multi-faceted background across the mental health ecosystem. Having worked in community health, private practice, and behind the scenes of family law—alongside roles in crisis intervention, high-conflict mediation, and case management for unhoused populations in Essex County—she understands systemic stress from every angle. Today, she brings that real-world grit into her session room while facilitating peer supervision groups for mental health professionals, fighting for healthier workplace standards, and building an unmasked community where both clients and providers can genuinely thrive.
