Ali Trenta is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the founder of Mindful Moon Counseling. With a lifelong passion for helping others—one that began in early childhood—Ali brings extensive experience in advocacy, mental health, and support services to her clinical work.
Ali’s therapeutic approach is eclectic and tailored to the individual. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices to support clients in reaching their unique goals. Her work is grounded in compassion, practicality, and deep respect for each client’s lived experience.
Ali offers neurodivergent-affirming therapy to individuals, couples, and families. As someone on the autism spectrum herself, she brings a nuanced and personal understanding of neurodivergence to her work. This lived perspective enhances her ability to create a therapeutic space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and validated.
Before founding Mindful Moon Counseling, Ali worked across several fields focused on advocacy and support. She served children and families involved in high-conflict legal matters, specializing in co-parenting, mediation, and guardian ad litem services. Her background also includes career counseling for undergraduate students, mental health support through the Crisis Text Line, and case management for unhoused populations in Essex County, New Jersey.
Ali’s practice is rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and a strong belief in every person’s capacity for growth and healing.
