ALI TRENTA LPC NCC, M.A., ED.S.

Ali Trenta is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and the founder of Mindful Moon Counseling. With a longstanding dedication to helping others that began early in life, Ali brings extensive experience in advocacy, mental health, and support services to both her clinical work and professional collaboration.

Ali practices from an eclectic, individualized therapeutic framework. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and collaborative treatment planning to support clients in creating meaningful and sustainable change. Her work is grounded in compassion, clinical clarity, and a deep respect for each client’s lived experience. Ali places strong emphasis on psychoeducation, helping clients understand why their symptoms occur and how treatment approaches address them.

Ali specializes in neurodivergent-affirming therapy and works with individuals, couples, and families. As an autistic clinician herself, she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work with neurodivergent clients. This perspective allows her to offer therapy that is affirming, attuned, and practical, particularly for clients navigating ADHD, autism, OCD, trauma-related conditions, and other neurodivergent presentations.

Prior to founding Mindful Moon Counseling, Ali worked across a range of advocacy- and service-oriented settings. Her professional background includes supporting children and families involved in high-conflict legal matters, with a focus on co-parenting, mediation, and guardian ad litem services. She has also provided career counseling to undergraduate students, crisis intervention through the Crisis Text Line, and case management services for unhoused populations in Essex County, New Jersey.

In addition to her clinical work, Ali is deeply committed to supporting other professionals, particularly fellow therapists. While she does not yet hold the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential, she plans to pursue this designation in the future. At present, Ali facilitates a peer supervision group for licensed mental health professionals who value collaboration, thoughtful feedback, and shared clinical insight in service of providing high-quality care to their clients.

Ali’s practice is rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and a strong belief in each person’s capacity for insight, growth, and healing.

Mindful Moon Counseling is not in-network with insurance, but many plans like Aetna, United, Cigna, Horizon Blue Cross, etc., often provide coverage for out-of-network providers.

Mindful Moon Counseling uses TherapyNotes, a secure and HIPAA-compliant client portal. Through this platform, clients can easily access documents, complete forms, send secure messages, and manage appointments safely and confidentially.
