FREE 15 MIN CONSULTATION
Let’s See if We’re a Good Fit (Free 15-Minute Consult)
I know that reaching out to a new therapist—especially if it involves a phone call or a video screen—can feel like a massive hurdle. You might be wondering what to say, whether you have to explain your whole life story in 15 minutes, or if it's going to be painfully awkward.
Let’s take the pressure off. This consultation is not a therapy session, and you don't have to have it all together. Think of it as a quick, low-stakes "vibe check" to see if my approach matches what your brain needs.
Exactly What We’ll Talk About
To help you prepare (and skip the anxiety of the unknown), here is exactly how our 15 minutes will go:
The Basics: I'll introduce myself, confirm what you're looking for (individual, couples, or family therapy), and ask what state you are located in.
Your "Why": I will ask a broad question like, "What’s bringing you to therapy right now?" You can give me the short bullet-point version.
Your Past Experience: I usually ask, "Have you done therapy before? What worked well for your brain, and what drove you crazy?" This helps me understand your needs.
My Approach: I will briefly explain how I work (using a psychoanalytic lens, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness) so you know what to expect from my style.
Your Questions: You can ask me anything! ("What are your rates?" "Do you have experience with late-diagnosed autism?" "Do you assign homework?")
Next Steps: If we feel like a great match, we will talk about scheduling your first intake session.
What if we aren't a match?
Therapy is highly personal, and I won't be offended if my style isn't what you're looking for. If we realize during the call that you might be better supported by someone else, I will gladly point you in the right direction. No guilt, no pressure.
